Upper canines – #11 and #6
The pointed teeth at the corners of the upper front teeth.
Roots
One root.
Canals
Almost always one. In a scan study of 100 upper canines, 96% had a single canal; a review of other studies found one canal in 75% to 100%.
These are typical counts from scan studies. Teeth vary, and only an X-ray or scan shows what a particular tooth has.
When they come in
Usually at 11–12 years old, according to the ADA's eruption chart.
They replace the upper baby canines, which fall out at 10–12 years.
They bite against the lower canines.
